Hi, in May while receiving a payment in Quickbooks I accidentally entered the incorrect customer. I realized my mistake this month so I deleted the transaction. May 1, 2013 - If you discover that a payment you entered into QuickBooks was applied to the wrong customer, then you need to edit the payment.
QuickBooks accounting software helps with the daily bookkeeping and accounting tasks that many business owners do themselves. QuickBooks does this by automating or streamlining common tasks, which also reduces transaction errors. However, mistakes such as duplicate payments can still happen. If you accidentally enter a payment twice in QuickBooks, you can remove the duplicate payment.

Click to select your company file, then click 'Open.'

Click the 'Banking' menu, then click 'Make Deposits.'
4.
Click to select the line containing the duplicate payment you want to delete.
5.
Click the 'Edit' menu, then click 'Delete Line.'
7.
Click the 'Lists' menu, then click 'Chart of Accounts.'
8.
Double-click 'Undeposited Funds' to open your bank account register.
9.
Click to select the duplicate payment you want to delete.
